Citrine is a beautiful yellow stone. Named from the French name for
lemon, "citron," many citrines have a juicy lemon color. Like
amethyst, citrine is a gem variety of
quartz. The
gem's varying yellow color comes from trace elements of iron. It is
a popular less expensive alternative to the much more expensive
yellow sapphire or yellow
diamond.
In ancient
times, citrine was worn as protection against snake venom and evil
thoughts.
Citrine is thought to stimulate both
mental focus and endurance. It can help dispel fundamental
levels of fear, brightening even the darkest corners of one's
perceived reality and helping one to "laugh without restraint".
It is very useful in assisting to penetrate problems and expedite
solutions. Augments happiness, prosperity, generosity, creativity, pleasure,
protection, strength, alignment, confidence, stability, energy, comfort,
truth, goodness and warmth. It helps assimilation, enjoyment of
life and spiritual growth. This is a stone of success in all walks of life.
It can also be helpful in the treatment of digestive and
blood circulation disorders.
Citrine is considered an alternative
to topaz as
the birthstone for November and the gemstone for the astrological
sign of Sagittarius. It is the anniversary gemstone for
the 17th year of marriage. Note: Wexna found a real citrine
